Belleville Is So Damn White.

Belleville is so damn white, it's ridiculous. You know how in Toronto every Pizza Pizza is run by either brown or Chinese people? In Belleville, they're all white. The Chinese food place is probably run by white people. Go to Wal-Mart in Scarborough, you see all shapes and colours of people. Go to Wal-Mart in Belleville, the people are all white, and mostly fat.
While it's nice to see a larger number of blondes and redheads, for someone from Toronto, it's incredibly disconcerting. You feel--regardless of how ridiculous and groundless this may be--that you were black, Chinese, South Asian, whatever, you would get odd looks, that every Wal-Mart cashier would be hoping for you to go to the next checkout so they wouldn't have to have a potentially embarassing interaction with you.

P.S. July books.
P.P.S. If you are from the Yucatán, you are Yucatecan.
