I BUMPED MY HEAD!

So I just slammed my forehead into the kitchen table. I have no excuse, I'm just an idiot. It really hurts too.

As for the possible precedent being set by the title relating directly to the post, I figure it doesn't really count since the title is a Peanuts reference. Side note: the way Linus acts in the particular strip referenced is exactly the way I feel when I do something stupid and hurt myself.

Ow.

if i could make this title the guitar hook from dreamgirl that would be awesome

A Quick Update On the Contents of My Wallet

Apparently I purchased a 2004-2005 Student Price Card at some point. It expired on July 31 - you know, like 6 months ago - and I don't remember ever using it.

I still have fiftysomething dollars in L&Q (Long & McQuade [don't ask (unless you're really interested [which you probably aren't (does anyone else dislike this extensive bracket device? [Because I really like it, but some teachers don't.])])]) gift cards from last Christmas. I was meant to buy new bass strings with them, but I haven't yet. I probably should, considering I wanted new strings a year ago. (I do think that I switched the worn ones for some old ones that weren't in use and were therefore slightly better.)

Tasty Chicken Time is awesome. No tax, baby. Five dollars even for a satisfying lunch of chicken and french fries.

And I'm officially an organ donor now: it's on my health card and everything. The Gift of Life, honey.

love fishin' blues

Anyway, apparently I have to make a decision about options for next semester in the next 6 hours or so, and then make my university decision over the next ten days. Somebody tell me that this isn't going to affect my future beyond university.

Seriously, I keep making excuses not to write in this space, but I really am very tired. I think I'm running into the same problem I had with my newspaper column: I have no strong opinions about anything. I may have to resort to posting creative junk - you know, bad poetry, prose, etc. - instead of my own thoughts and feelings.

What a terrible post. To redeem it, here are the lyrics to Taj Mahal's 'Corrina, Corrina':

(spoken) Old school rock - this's a lover's blues.

Got a bird what whistle,
Baby, got a bird,
Honey, got a bird what sing,
Baby, got a bird,
Honey, got a bird what sing.
Without my Corrina,
Sure don't mean,
Sure don't mean a natural thing.

Honey I learn to love you
Baby, 'fore I call,
Honey, 'fore I call your name,
Baby, 'fore I call,
Honey, 'fore I call your name.
Wouldn't trade your love for money,
Baby, you're my one,
Honey, you're my warm heart's flame.

Have mercy, have mercy,
Baby, on my hard luck,
Honey, on my hard luck soul,
Baby, on my hard luck,
Honey, on my hard luck soul.
Got a rainbow 'round my shoulders,
Look like silver,
Like Klondike gold.

Tell me, Corrina,
Baby, where you stayed,
Honey where you stayed last night,
Baby, where you stayed,
Honey, where you stayed last night.
Though your shoes ain't buttoned,
And your dress ain't lookin', mama,
Ain't looking right,

Love you sweet, Corrina,
Baby, tell the world,
Honey, tell the world I do,
Baby, tell the world,
Mama, tell the world I do.
Ain't no woman in fourteen counties,
Love me pretty baby, now
Honey, the way you do.

Love you sweet,
Corrina baby,
Honey, tell the world I do,
Baby, tell the world,
Honey, tell the world I do.
Ain't no woman in fourteen counties,
Love me baby,
Honey, the way you do.

Said she look like silver,
Baby shine like,
Shine like Klondike gold,
Look like silver, baby
Shine like Klondike gold.
She got a lien on my body,
Got a mortgage,
Mortgage on my soul.

Tell me sweet,
Corrina, baby
Where you been so long?
Where you been,
Mama oh, where you been so long?
I ain't had no real good loving, ooh
Baby since you,
Honey since you been gone.

Got a bird what whistle,
Baby, got a bird,
Honey, got a bird what sing,
Baby, got a bird,
Honey, got a bird what sing.
Without Corrina,
Sure don't mean,
Sure don't mean a natural thing.

Corrina,
Corrina,
Corrina,
Corrina,
Corrina,
Corrina,
Corrina,
Corrina,
Corrina...

God damn, Taj Mahal sure can take those traditional/Bob Dylan songs and expand them into something great.

Also, if it seems to you like this was a throwaway entry, you're greatly deceived: I just spent about fifteen minutes listening to the song and transcribing the lyrics. It's live and with several extra verses, so I couldn't just copy it from another source.

Honestly, blog, the things I do for you.
