endgame

Oh gods, what a terrible game. 80-66 is not a good loss.

On the other hand though, the Raptors won again. That makes 3 of their last 4 on the road. Now, if only they can do it at home for the paying fans.

And of course, when I sell up the team, they lose. So should I predict that the Jaguars will lose against Indianapolis, and then they'll win? Seriously though, it doesn't matter if they win or lose - well, I mean it does but - because they'll win out after this week and lock up the first AFC wild card spot.

IND (12-0)
SF (2-10)
@HOU (1-11)
TEN (3-9)

Works for me. See you in the playoffs, baby.

Please don't punish me for my hubris.

now that it's snowed, the frost on my window is gone. what sense does that make?

I guess it's nice to be able to see outside now that there's something to look at. You know, snow.

The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay is quite possibly the best book I've ever read. Not only is it a great story, exhaustively researched, emotionally powerful, and, you know, interesting, it's so incredibly put together. The entire structure of the book, from phrases up through sentences, paragraphs, chapters, parts, and the whole damn book itself just fits so well that it seems like the book must have been grown rather than created by some pathetic human's mind - not that I think Michael Chabon is pathetic: it's more of a general thing, sort of a lament for humanity. The themes are all so fully realised, the characters are drawn so clearly, and the story moves so well. I wish I could even imagine writing something like this book. Seriously, if you haven't read it, go do so immediately. If you like well-written books, or entertaining books, or serious literature (you know, with themes and stuff), I can guarantee* that you won't be disappointed.

In other news, the Grizzlies go for their seventh win (!) in a row tonight against Dallas. Over their past four, they're holding opponents to 70.75 points per game - which is very low - and 38.59 per cent field goal shooting - which is also very low. It really seems that the changes they made - losing James Posey, Earl Watson, and Jason Williams (the white one), among others, and adding Damon Stoudamire, Eddie Jones, and Bobby Jackson - may have put them over the top. They made the playoffs last year, but were swept by the Suns in the first round. They definitely seem to be headed back there, and my only worry is what happens when they run into the Spurs - or the Clippers, for that matter (more on them later).

Sam Cassell may be weird-looking, but he's sure helped the Clippers. It helps that Elton Brand and Corey Maggette are having excellent seasons, but just about everyone but Sam were there last year, and all the years before that - when they struggled. But anyway. It's too bad that I don't care much about the Clips anymore. I do have a good reason though, and its name is Chris Kaman. He may be a solid center - 7.9 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2 blocks - but god-damn it is he ugly.

I think it would really help if he got a haircut.

*Not a guarantee.

apparently all my titles are either references to other things or self-commentary - this is the latter

God, I love Keith Jarrett.

Today is a day that I don't think I can write much - just like all the other days. (That's a super-reference!)

There is frost on my bedroom window. It is cold.

for gifts that get great reactions from your creepy michael-j.-fox-sounding talking dog

Honestly, I had an idea for a post that went well with the title, but I can't remember now what it was. Some kind of thing, I'm sure.

This is getting to be a problem, blog.

is there anybody here that love my jesus?

9-3. Had me worried there for a while, but the Browns are terrible and my boys finally realised that they needed to actually try to win the game. Boy.

Was anybody else told as a child that a 'few' was, like, a scientific term, being an amount between 3 and 6 units (inclusive)?
