I remember Jaco*
This man was a genius, and one of the greatest musicians of his time, if not of all time. Just listen to his fucking TONE. It's unbelievable.
EDIT: I figured it'd be good to provide something for you to, as I had it, "listen to his fucking TONE." Here it is.
* Note that I don't actually remember him, as he died several years before I was born. Also, you may think that this type of tribute is more appropriate on, say, the anniversary of his birth or death, but fuck you.

They never played together to my knowledge--and I don't want to set myself up as an authority on Jaco or Miles, but it seems like I would know if they had. Certainly they never recorded together, or did any major tours.
Jaco is separated from Miles by one degree several ways though: Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Joe Zawinul, John McLaughlin, etc.
